The story goes like this....I had organized Blake's 30th birthday party on a boat cruise on Lake Michigan to watch the Chicago fireworks. We had 49 of our closest friends and family that attended the party. Before the fireworks started, I had gathered everyone downstairs to sing Happy Birthday to Blake.
“The last 3 years of dating you have been so amazing, I want to spend my next 30 years with you.... Will you marry me?”
Before we all sang, Blake wanted to give a thank you speech to all of his friends and family that helped make this event possible! I was the last one he thanked. I spent so much effort trying to make his birthday special, I had ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA he was going to propose. He said something like, "The last 3 years of dating you have been so amazing, I want to spend my next 30 years with you.... Will you marry me?" But what he said didn't register, until I saw the ring. I was so overwhelmed with emotion, that I didn't even say "Yes," I put my hands over my face and started to cry. Once I realized what had happened, I put my hands down, opened my eyes and looked Blake in his eyes and accepted his proposal by offering my hand out to his. I totally forgot which finger the ring went on, because I offered him my right hand. He grabbed my hand and slid the diamond ring on my left ring finger. I pulled myself into him and we kissed!
It was probably the best kiss I ever had in my life!!! I was so happy that my family and Pria were there to share the happiest moment in my life! After sharing the excitement with my friends and family, Blake and I sat underneath the fireworks, cuddling, kissing and just enjoying the moment we will never forget for the rest of our lives. Everyone dreams of the most perfect engagement. Never In my wildest dreams, I thought that an engagement like this, would ever happen to me! Because Blake and I are equal partners, I just recently purchased Blake the same engagement ring, so we both can have matching rings. I love you Blake so much, and I can't wait to share the rest of my life with you!
